Two local chambers of commerce are holding special events this week to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Boulder County Fair.

The Boulder Chamber will hold a celebration from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Boulder Chamber parking lot, 2440 Pearl St. The free, family friendly event will include snacks, games and the chance to meet Cobra the steer, who will be showcased at the fair.

The Longmont Chamber of Commerce will hold its celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at its office, 528 Main St., on the back porch facing Kimbark Street. Baby cows will be on hand for cuddling and photos.

The fair is Aug. 2- 11 at the Boulder County Fairgrounds, 9595 Nelson Road in Longmont. Learn more about the fair at bouldercountyfair.org.
