This Wednesday, Transportation staff will be at the Boulder Farmers Market to preview an updated vision and revised goals for the future of Boulder’s transportation network:

Transportation at the Market
Aug. 21, 2019, 4 to 8 p.m.
Boulder Farmers Market (13th Street near BMoCA)

The draft 2019 Transportation Master Plan (TMP) outlines 10 key initiatives and specific actions to achieve a transportation system that is safe, equitable and reliable; provides travel choices; and supports clean air and the city’s climate commitment. The draft plan reflects community input gathered through events, community meetings and online feedback over the past 18 months.

First adopted in 1989, the TMP has provided consistent policy direction and innovation to increase travel choices and decrease the number of people driving alone. These efforts serve two overarching goals: to provide mobility in a way that is safe and convenient, and to preserve what makes Boulder a good place to live by designing for people and minimizing auto congestion, air pollution and noise.

The draft plan is scheduled to go before City Council for a public hearing and approval Sept. 17.

Community members who are unable to attend the Aug. 21 event may also provide feedback through Boulder’s online engagement forum, www.BeHeardBoulder.org, and learn more at BoulderTMP.net.
