The family is also collecting signatures for a petition.”Hopefully (we will) get a lot of signatures to convince them that anything without jail time is not appropriate,” Werner said.The last time the family was in court, a plea deal for five years’ probation was on the table for Butler, but the judge rejected it.The judge told both attorneys to come back with a plea deal.”In court, she never said ‘I’m sorry,'” Werner said.WESH 2 News contacted Butler’s attorney, Corey Cohen, for comment, but he wasn’t available. Werner said he hopes the petition will help bring justice for Logan.”Anything without jail time for anyone who does this to a child is unacceptable,” Werner said.
