Several downtown Longmont streets will be closed to traffic Saturday afternoon and night during an ArtWalk event, city officials advised on Friday.

On Sunday morning, several Weld County roads east of Longmont will be closed during an Oktoberfest Triathlon.

From 4 p.m to 8 p.m., Saturday, Main Street in downtown Longmont will be closed between Third and Longs Peak avenues, Fourth Avenue will be closed between Coffman and Kimbark streets and Fifth Avenue will be closed between Coffman and Kimbark streets.

Northbound Main Street traffic will be detoured at Third Avenue onto Kimbark, and southbound Main Street traffic will be detoured onto Coffman at Ninth Avenue.

From 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, several roads near Union Reservoir will have shoulder and lane closings during the Oktoberfest Triathlon.

That will include closing one northbound traffic lane of Weld County Road 1 between Colo. 119 and Ninth Avenue and a full closing of County Road 1 between Ninth and Colo. 66. County Road 1 will remain open to southbound traffic between Colo. 66 and Colo.119.

Officials said motorists can expect heavy bicycle traffic along the shoulders of Colo. 66, Weld County Road 7 and Weld County Road 5.5.

Weld County Road 26 will be closed between the Union Reservoir entrance and Weld County Road 5.
