Southern California Edison is considering controlled power outages in parts of Southern California that run a high risk of wildfires. That risk could be exacerbated by strong Santa Ana winds expected to visit the area Thursday, Oct. 10.

The SCE list of places being considered for outages comes after Pacific Gas & Electric cut power to more than 500,000 of its customers in Northern California Wednesday.

All or part of the areas on the map are being considered for shutoffs as of Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 9.
