Week five. As part of my Graphic Design course, I was given a task to go to a place, I chose to go to ‘Bristol Design’ on Park Row, a specialist second hand tools shop. Charles Stirling has been owner and running the shop for over thirty years and his expertise lies in woodworking. As part of the same set of tasks I was advised to create a tool, I used this opportunity to enquire about what makes a well crafted tool. I kept his use of language and reiteration. The posters were Risographed and sound of different production/ methods that manipulate text were added. Clip one was overlayed with the sound of a typewriter, then a Vandercook proofing press followed by a computer keyboard and mouse.
