Boulder High has been placed on secure status early Thursday afternoon as officials investigate a hotline tip.

Boulder Valley School District spokesman Randy Barber confirmed that the campus, 1604 Arapahoe Ave., was placed on secure status, which means the main doors are locked but operations inside the school continue as normal.

Barber said parents have been notified.

Barber said the move was made as part of an investigation into a Safe2Tell tip, though officials did not comment further on the nature of the tip.

Boulder Valley security has responded and Boulder police have been notified.
