Several businesses, schools and nonprofits are saying “thank you” to those who served and are serving this Veterans Day with free meals, events and more. Here is a list of offers around Longmont and Boulder on Friday.

• Colorado Parks and Wildlife – Veterans and active military get free entry into all Colorado state parks by showing proof of military service.

• Ziggi’s Coffee – The Longmont-based franchise Ziggi’s Coffee will give veterans and active military personnel one free 16-ounce drink with valid military ID or proof of service. This offer is available at all Ziggi’s locations, including the original store at 400 Main St.

• Longs Peak VFW Post 2601 – Local military veterans are invited to a Veterans Day dinner at 6 p.m. hosted by Longs Peak VFW Post 2601 at its new location, 340 Lashley St. in Longmont.

• Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers – All veterans and current military personnel who visit Freddy’s at 2250 Main St. in Longmont will receive a free Original Double combo meal card. Cards can be redeemed through Nov. 30.

• Parry’s Pizza & Taphouse – Veterans and active service military with valid credentials get a free full-size entrée and fountain drink at Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse, 1232 S. Hover St. in Longmont.

• Torchy’s Tacos – Active military and veterans will receive a complimentary taco and beverage from a select Veterans Day menu at Torchy’s Tacos, 2805 Pearl St. in Boulder.

• Sports Clips – Sports Clips Haircuts of Longmont will offer free haircuts to all veterans and active duty military members at 210 Ken Pratt Blvd. #250.

• Boulder Chamber – The Boulder Chamber will livestream its lighting of the star on Flagstaff Mountain to honor active military and veterans. A Joint Service Color Guard will be provided by members of the three Reserve Officer Training Corps Battalions at CU Boulder. The stream starts at 6 p.m. on the Boulder Chamber YouTube channel.

• Prairie Ridge Elementary School – Prairie Ridge Elementary fourth graders will put on an outdoor concert from 2:45 to 3:15 p.m. All veterans in attendance will be presented with a small token of gratitude from the school, 6632 St. Vrain Ranch Blvd. in Firestone.

• Trail Ridge Middle School – Trail Ridge Middle will host its annual Veterans Day flag raising ceremony followed by an assembly attended by veterans from the community. The flag raising starts at 7:30 a.m. at the school, 1000 Button Rock Drive in Longmont.

• Mead High School – The school will hold a Veterans Day assembly from 2 to 2:45 p.m. featuring several veterans speaking about themselves and their experiences. The student council is also hosting a fundraiser with proceeds going to a local veterans support group and the school’s music groups will perform in the assembly at 12750 Weld County Road 7.

• Longmont Veterans Day Parade – The city of Longmont’s annual Veterans Day parade will start at 11:11 a.m. and runs through downtown Longmont.
