MORENO VALLEY — Firefighters battled a brush fire that charred about five acres Saturday night in Moreno Valley, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The fire ignited near Gilman Springs Road and Alessandro Boulevard about 7:10 p.m., Cal Fire reported.
The department sent 15 engines, two crews, two bulldozers and two water tankers.
No structures were reported threatened, nor were there reports of injuries. On social media, the Fire Department said the blaze in the hills east of Gilman Springs had a slow rate of spread.
