CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois men’s tennis head coach Brad Dancer signed Jeremy Zhang to the 2023 signing class, announced Monday morning.

- Career-high ITF rank 104
- No. 1 ranked Australian for 2005
- Played 2023 Junior Australian Open and made the Round of 16 in doubles
- Played for Australia at 2019 ITF World Junior Teams Asia/Oceania Qualifying, finishing second
- Has been the No. 1 2005 for Australia for around a year, previously was in the Top three every year
- Played at No. 1 spot for Scots College for Year 10, 11, 12
- Won the GPS 1sts Premiership with Scots College three times (2019, 2021, 2022) for the first time in 40+ years.
- Is currently playing J1 Thailand then J1 Malaysia
- His goal is to build ITF ranking so that he can compete in the juniors at French Open, Wimbledon, US Open for the rest of the year before heading to college in the fall
- Why Illinois? “I chose Illinois because of the amazing tennis program as well as being really good academically. When I visited, I was blown away by the facilities and campus. I also really liked the coaches and decided it would be the place to be.”
