The Erie Department of Public Works announced that the first phase of the Erie Airpark road construction project is anticipated to begin Aug. 8, starting at Skylane Drive and Viking Court, and continuing through the end of the month.

The project includes removing road surfaces prior to repaving and some driveway access adjustments.  Driveway access tie-ins, site cleanup and final checklist items will continue through the month of September.

The department also advises that some neighborhoods may be impacted by construction noise and heavy equipment traffic. Some temporary traffic measures, including frequent traffic shifts and lane closures, will be implemented during the project.

Work crews will accommodate residents accessing their homes, but minor delays and temporary closures should be expected for the duration of the project.

The town said it will make attempts to keep those impacted by the project updated on the progress and any schedule changes. Construction will take place Monday through Saturdays.
