Per a report from Seth Emerson of The Athletic, Georgia co-defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann has received a big raise.

Schumann will now earn $1.9 million annually, an increase of nearly $1.1 million from $805,000. Schumann, who also coaches the inside linebackers, shares defensive coordinator responsibilities with Will Muschamp. This offseason, Schumann interviewed for the defensive coordinator position with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Per Emerson, new Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo’s salary has been revealed as well. Bobo will earn $1 million per year.

A former Georgia quarterback, quarterback coach and offensive coordinator, Bobo was promoted to run the offense in February shortly after Monken’s departure.

Smart said he first began thinking about Todd Monken’s replacement around the time of the national title game, and that it was not a tough decision to promote Bobo, who was already on staff as an offensive analyst.

“Immediately after the game you’re thinking, ‘Well, if I lose this guy, who am I hiring?,’” Smart said.

“I was very comfortable at that point that if we lost Todd and he decided to go back to the NFL — because that’s the only thing I felt like he would leave for — that I would go with Mike because I felt very comfortable with his leadership in the room.”

As for Schumann, it seems that it will be only a matter of time before he takes the next step, though this raise should entice the young coach to stick around a bit longer. The former Alabama assistant is one of two remaining original assistant coaches who were hired by head coach Kirby Smart when he began his tenure at Georgia in 2016. The other is running backs coach Dell McGee.
