I apologize in advance if this isn’t the right place to post this. I picked up a 1978-1981 (not sure exactly what year) Gibson “The Paul.” If my research is correct, it has a walnut body, neck, and head, ebony fretboard, and a gold “Gibson” logo painted on the head. I’m no stranger to sand/paint/stain projects, but this is going to be my first guitar. Should I just stain? Should I fine sand and polish? A clearcoat? I honestly don’t know what would be best. I appreciate any help you can give me!
Looking for some guidance on how to go about refinishing/cleaning up an older Gibson guitar
