The Lyons Flyer will provide free transportation along U.S. 36 between Lyons and Boulder beginning Monday. This new bus service will replace the Y route with funding from the Regional Transportation District, Lyons and Boulder.
“We welcome the return of convenient public transportation in Lyons,” Mayor Hollie Rogin said in a news release. “It allows our residents greater flexibility to take care of their daily needs and plan trips to Boulder and beyond on the updated Lyons Flyer.”
Lyons Flyer will be available from Monday to Friday and will complete three round trips during rush hour in the mornings and afternoons. This service requires no fares or additional bus passes. All buses will be Americans with Disabilities Act compliant. Passengers can track a bus location and time of arrival to their bus stop on the mobile app transit.
These bus services will not be available for the following holidays in 2022: Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
All buses will provide bike racks, allow leashed dogs and masks are optional at the moment.
The Lyon Flyers route will cover downtown Lyons at 4th Avenue and Railroad Avenue to Broadway and Regent Drive in Boulder, according to the Boulder County news release.
