A man and a woman were found shot inside a Bethel home late Tuesday night, according to police.

The Bethel Police Department was called to Reservoir Street before midnight on Tuesday for a report that there was yelling going on in the area. Officers located a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds inside the home, police said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

Officers began to treat the two for their injuries. The woman, later identified as Traci Jones, died from gunshot wounds to the head and trunk, and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. She was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

The man, identified as Lester Jones, was transported to Danbury Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. According to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, he died from a gunshot wound to the head, and his death was ruled a suicide.

There is no active threat to the community, police said.

Police are actively investigating the incident.
