The Longmont Police Department is investigating after a 57-year-old man was found dead inside his vehicle Friday night, near the Callahan House.

According to Longmont police Sgt. Tim Miller, police received request for a welfare check for a man who was late returning to his home in Fort Collins. The man works at the Callahan House, a wedding and event venue located at 312 Terry St. When police did not find him, they searched nearby and located his truck at about 8:21 p.m. parked on Third Avenue, between Terry and Coffman streets. The man was found deceased inside the auto.

Miller said the man’s death is not believed to be suspicious and could be related to a medical issue, but police are investigating the case. The Boulder County Coroner was called to the scene and will determine how his cause and manner of death.

Westbound lanes on Third Avenue from Terry to Coffman streets were expected to be closed until approximately 10 p.m. Friday while authorities worked at the scene.
