BRUNSWICK, Ga.- Coastal Georgia’s volleyball team (7-6, (0-1)) will begin its three-game road trip on Wednesday, Sept. 21 against Webber International (10-5, (0-1)) at 7 pm.

Both the Mariners and the Warriors lost their first Sun Conference game of the season 3-1 on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Webber International’s top scorer is outside hitter Bailey Sikkema who leads the team with 114 kills. However, the Warriors are a balanced team, as they have seven players with at least 70 points on the season which ranks second in the conference behind Keiser.

The Warriors also rank second in the conference for hitting percentage and opponent hitting percentage, showing they work both sides of the net well.

Coastal Georgia will look to get this stretch of road games started off with a win. The Mariners have won the last eight matchups against the Warriors and are 12-6 all-time against them.

MARINERS QUICK HITS:

  • Freshman Paula Perez Rosales has done it all for the Mariners this season. She leads the team in kills per set, serving aces and points per set and is second on the team in digs per set and third on the team in total blocks.
  • Sydney Martin continues to play at a high level, leading the team in hitting percentage, blocks and total points.
  • Rebecca Brown and Breanna Tanton have been a nice one-two punch at the setter position this season as they are averaging 4.65 and 3.59 assists per set, respectively.
  • Natalia Willhelm Heguaburu came to Coastal Georgia as a middle blocker and outside hitter. She has since taken the role of libero and is thriving. She leads the team by a wide margin in digs per set and is also sixth in the conference in that category.
