The University of Hawai’i men’s golf team will make their first appearance at the Wyoming Desert Intercollege, which runs Wednesday, March 1 through Friday, March 3 at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
 
Hosted by Wyoming, the 16-team field includes Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, Colorado, Fresno State, Hawai’i, Sacramento State, Southern Utah, Tarleton State, Texas State, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, UT Arlington, Utah, Utah Tech, and Wyoming.
 
Participants will play 54 holes, 18 on each day at the 7,305-yard, par-72 course. Tee times begin at 7:00 a.m. PT each day off holes 1 and 10.
 
Colorado is the highest ranked team at No. 47. Among the six Big West teams competing, Cal State Fullerton is the highest ranked team at No. 107. UH enters the tournament ranked No. 158.

Competing for the Rainbow Warriors this week are Atsuya Oishi, Blaze Akana, Tyler Ogawa, Josh Hayashida, and Remington Hirano.

 

The Rainbow Warriors are coming off a 21st place finish at the John Burns Intercollegiate in Līhu’e, Kaua’i. Oishi tied for 26th with a career-best 5-under 211 total.
