One person died and three others were injured following a three-car crash near Highway 157 and Valmont Road on Saturday night, according to Colorado State Patrol.

According to CSP Sgt. Troy Kessler, the crash was reported at 11:20 p.m. on Saturday.

A 2002 Dodge Dakota was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 157. A 2018 Subaru Legacy was heading northbound in the left lane, while a 2004 Honda Accord was also traveling northbound in the right lane. The Dodge hit the Subaru head on, causing the Subaru to be pushed into the right lane. The Subaru was then rear-ended by the Honda Accord.

The Dodge Dakota was driven by a 17-year-old female from Boulder. Kessler said that the driver was wearing her seatbelt and was transported to Boulder Community Health with serious injuries. Kessler said that she is suspected of, and will be investigated for, impairment.

The Subaru Legacy was driven by a 33-year-old male from Boulder. He was wearing his seatbelt, but sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. A female passenger in the Subaru, who was not wearing her seatbelt, died. She has not yet been identified by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office.

The Honda Accord was driven by a 65-year-old woman from Longmont. She was wearing her seatbelt, but sustained serious injuries. She was also transported to a hospital.
