Lyons is seeking artist to help expand its outdoor art collection through the selection of five additional pieces.

The outdoor collection, a partnership between the town and the Lyons Arts and Humanities Commission,  is known as heARTS of LYONS, according to a news release from the arts commission. The collection seeks to celebrate art and sculptures by placing them throughout the town for people to see.

Applications are available online on the town’s website at: bit.ly/3m1E74o. Artists can enter their submission through Feb. 22. There is no admission fee. To be considered for this two-year commitment, artists are encouraged to do an online submission for up to three pieces for juried consideration.

Artists will be paid a $750 honorarium in two installments for a two-year placement. Artists are encouraged to sell their showcased work to Rocky Mountain National Park. The release said that if the existing work sells, the goal would be to replace it with another piece through the remainder of the two-year contract.

Lyons and the arts commission have identified where placement of art is acceptable and will assist with the installation of mounting blocks and placards for each piece adding to this outstanding opportunity for high visibility, the release said.
