Peak to Peak Charter School sophomore Yosha Gautam is the overall winner in the annual Congressional Art Competition in Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District.

Her piece, titled “The Face of Courage,” is a portrait of an indigenous man. Peak to Peak is located in Lafayette.

“The Face of Courage” will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol, alongside artwork from contest winners across the country. Additional pieces of artwork that won second and third place, both by students from Broomfield’s Jefferson Academy, will be placed in Congressman Joe Neguse’s regional offices in Boulder and Fort Collins.

All the submitted artwork for the competition also will hang in the Boulder Public Library through Thursday. The winners were chosen by a panel of judges.
