Ravinia Festival announced its summer lineup this morning, featuring Counting Crows, Boyz II Men with Isley Brothers, Carrie Underwood and more.

As for the city’s other upcoming musical festivals, Pitchfork is set to announce its performers on Monday and the Lollapalooza lineup drops on Tuesday.

Seizing on the lame-duck period between Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s election loss and the start of the next administration, a group of aldermen called for a special meeting next week to consider a slate of rule changes they say would bolster the City Council’s independence from the mayor’s office and “improve city governance.”

The highly anticipated trial of the so-called ComEd Four, which is expected to last up to eight weeks, will feature as many as 70 witnesses, including current and former state legislators, members of Michael Madigan’s vaunted 13th Ward political operation, and former ComEd executives and attorneys.

As the trial begins, the Tribune has compiled everything you need to know about the investigation, including the events that led to the trial, the backgrounds of key defendants and which witnesses are expected to testify.

On Jan. 28, for the first time in nearly 50 years, El Trebol Liquors, the oldest dive bar in Pilsen, closed its doors to its faithful patrons to pay their respects to Sammy, as most people called him.
