A People’s United Bank in Naugatuck has been robbed, according to police.
Police say a man went to the People’s United Bank inside of the Stop & Shop on Rubber Avenue in Naugatuck and presented a note demanding money. There were no weapons reported in the robbery.
Police described the suspect as a man with blue eyes and a goatee, wearing a black T-shirt, dark shorts and a black baseball hat.
This marks the sixth time a People’s United Bank inside a grocery store has been robbed in Connecticut since July 15. There have also been reported robberies in Watertown, Glastonbury, Southington, West Hartford and Newington.
Those robberies were described similarly to this one, with one or two men giving a note to the teller demanding money. It is unclear if the robberies are connected.
