Superior Planning Commission will discuss a Downtown Superior project Tuesday night during a special meeting.

The applicant, Morgan Land Holdings and Ranch Capital, is proposing to develop 73,243 square feet of commercial development, 446 residential dwelling units and 7,564 square-feet of civic space.

The proposed project would be east of Superior Drive and the Sports Stable, north of Old Rail Way and west of Marshall Road.

The development zone district plan for Downtown Superior, formerly known as Superior Town Center, dates back to October 2012.

The plan established the general land use parameters for developing a 156-acre, mixed-use and pedestrian-oriented downtown environment with up to 1,400 housing units, 444,600 square feet of commercial/retail floor area, 373,000 square feet of office space and 500 hotel rooms.

To date, 565 residential units have been approved within the development. There is an application under review which proposes 25 single-family homes.
