Legendary golfer Tiger Woods reportedly traveled to Delaware for a meeting with fellow PGA players regarding the Saudi-backed LIV league.
Golf Week reported that Woods is arrived for a meeting, although details remain unclear. Woods declined to join the league.
The meeting comes in advance of the BMW Championship at the Wilmington Country Club near Greenville. Woods is not playing in the PGA event, which has attracted many of the world’s top golfers,
Members of the LIV league, headed by Australian golfer Greg Norman, are barred from PGA tournaments.. LIV members lost a recent court battle in an effort to return to the PGA circuit.
The league has drawn fire due to the actions of Saudi royalty, who have been linked to the murder and dismemberment of a dissident who was lured into one of the nation’s embassies.
The league reportedly offered Woods $700 million to $800 million. for joining the tour.
LIV will hold tournaments here and overseas and has scheduled a championship event in Miami FL.
