KA’ANAPALI, Maui – University of Hawai’i sophomore Mayumi Umezu carded a 1-under 71 in the second round of the Ānuenue Spring Break Classic Tuesday at Kā’anapali’s Royal Course.
 
The Waimea, Hawai’i native rebounded from an opening round 80 to post the best score of the day for the Rainbow Wahine, who are in 14th place in the team standings. Umezu is tied for 52nd with a 7-over 151 total.
 
Focus Jonglikit carded a second straight 74 and is tied for 40th at 148. Also competing for UH are Wendy Song (152; t-60th), Hyeonji Kang (153; t-65th), and Ting-Yu Liu (169; 78th).
 
Two others are competing as individuals – Kralyn Salazar (156; t-73rd) and Monica Johnson (164; 77th).
 
UCLA’s Zoe Campos continues to lead the field after a second round 67 for an 11-under 133 total. Tulane’s Carla Bernat, ranked No. 8 nationally, is one stroke back at 10-under after posting the day’s best score of 7-under 65.

Denver and Pepperdine share the lead in the team standings at 15-under 561.

 

The tournament concludes on Wednesday with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
