RIVERSIDE — Attorneys representing victims of the Sandalwood fire in Calimesa announced Wednesday they are suing the waste collection company whose driver dumped a burning load in the middle of a Santa Ana windstorm, leading to the roughly 1,000-acre blaze that destroyed a mobile home park and killed two of its residents.

“The Sandalwood Fire devastated the Calimesa community,” said attorney Josh Swigart, who along with lawyers from the firm Spreter & Petiprin are spearheading the civil action filed Tuesday in Riverside County Superior Court against Stanton-based CR&R.
