The title may be confusing but I’m looking at making a dovetail box out of cherry that will be roughly 14″x14″x10″. The box will be used to store 4, one gallon bottles of wine. Seeing how the contents will be heavy I want to use real wood not plywood for the bottom of the box. I will be placing the quarter inch thick bottom into a channel I will router into the bottom of all four sides of the box. How do you splice together quarter inch cherry to create roughly a 14″x14″x0.25″ bottom to a box?
