Kahilu Performing Arts Workshop is a two-week summer musical theater performing arts camp. Founded in 2011, the Kahilu Performing Arts Workshop introduces youth to dynamic aspects of the performing arts.
Students play acting games that involve physical awareness, improvisation and communication. They rehearse musical numbers daily, learning songs and dances, along with a script co-written by teachers and campers. Campers participate in daily electives of their choice, including songwriting, playwriting, dance, improv and art.
At the end of the two weeks, campers perform a show for their ‘ohanas. All the Kahilu Performing Arts Workshop teachers are theatre professionals from Hawai‘i Island, assisted by local high school and college students pursuing a theatre education. There will be a final performance on the last afternoon of the workshop. Click here to register.
