3 teens charged with arson of dump truck in Naugatuck

NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WTNH) – Three teens face charges after they intentionally set a dump truck on fire Friday afternoon in Naugatuck, according to police.

At around 1:20 p.m., Naugatuck police and fire departments responded to the Borough of Naugatuck Department of Public Works storage area on Spring Street, where they found a Department of Public Works dump truck on fire.

Police identified four juveniles as possible suspects. When officers tried to question them, the juveniles ran away. All four were apprehended after a short chase, according to police.

Three 16-year-olds were arrested and charged with third-degree arson, third-degree criminal trespass, first-degree criminal mischief and interfering with police.
