The Connecticut State Police are investigating a fatal accident Saturday night on Interstate 95 in Old Lyme and asking any witnesses or folks with dashcam video to come forward.
Killed in the accident at the intersection near Whippoorwill Road was driver Michael S. Sansur, 42, of Darien. His passenger, Michael Alexander Sansur, 21, of Milford, was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital by LifeStar with what are believed to be serious injuries, according to the accident report.
The driver of a second car, Fernando Almando Dixon, 26, of Oxford, was taken to Shoreline Clinic in Old Saybrook, for what are believed to be minor injuries.
The state police report states that Sansur was headed northbound on I-95 in Old Lyme between exits 70-71 in the second lane when the car stopped for an unknown reason.
The vehicle driven by Dixon was traveling north on I-95 in the left lane of two behind Sansur’s vehicle and struck the rear of the vehicle, the accident report said. Police responded to the accident about 7:20 p.m.
