From the Broomfield, Boulder and Longmont areas, 47 local players were named to the girls soccer all-state teams presented by the Colorado High School Activities Association.

Broomfield’s Reagan Kotschau, the Daily Camera player of the year, Mead’s Katy Adler, the Longmont Times-Call’s honoree, and 3A player of the year Kate Runyon of Jefferson Academy, led the way.

Kotschau, an All-American midfielder headed to Washington State, was named to Class 5A’s first team after she helped lead the Eagles to the state quarterfinals in the spring, totaling 15 goals and seven assists. Coach Jim Davidson called her a generational player.

Joining her there were three other seniors, including teammate Michaela McGowen (11 goals, nine assists), Legacy’s Kendall Rippley (25, 16), who was named the Front Range League player of the year ahead of her next stop at Air Force, and Fairview’s Claire Silverman (19, eight), who was a postseason maestro throughout her career and led the Knights to the semifinals last month.

Broomfield’s Macee McKenna was named to its second team.

In Class 4A, sophomore forward Adler was named to the first team after she led the Mavericks to the state semifinals, piecing together 16 goals and six assists. Erie senior Leah Price was on the second team.

In 3A, Tennessee commit Runyon led the Jaguars to a state title with 30 goals and 14 assists. Teammates Gianna Gagliano (32, 17), Allie Jo Kirkpatrick (19, 39) and goalie Helen Stegner (13 shutouts) were also on the first team. Rylin Chichirico, Ella Pajor and Sarah Welsch were second team, while its coach, Matt Cassell, was the classification’s coach of the year.

Prospect Ridge Academy’s Kateri Trujillo (22, 23) was also on the 3A first team after she helped take the Miners to the quarterfinals. Teammate Kayah Robbins was on the second team.

In 2A, Dawson had two first teamers in Lauren Muniz, who returned from a season-ending injury in 2022 and had 28 goals and 17 assists as a junior, and defender Ella Stewart (four, two). Teammate Kanoe Bihang, thanks to her 33 goals, was placed on the second team.

Class 5A honorable mentions included Monarch’s Sophia Stalter and Grace Smith; Legacy’s Katey Beaver and Sophia Varga; Broomfield’s Emerson DeLuca and Kayla Loughrey; and Fairview’s Sydney Boyd, Alyson Campbell, Ellori Crosby and Ilise Ziebarth.

Class 4A’s honorable mentions were Mead’s Averi Williams, Hailey Grillas, Reese Ormsby, Lexi Van Dyke and Bella Wright; Holy Family’s Anya Moser, Makaellia Giron and Addison Kusek; Silver Creek’s Morgan Huff and Jada Lindquist; and Niwot’s Tiffany Yie, Erie’s Ava McGehan and Frederick’s Xitlali Guereca.

Class 3A’s honorable mentions were PRA’s Shaye Grote and Longmont’s Sophia Ormsby, Samantha Whitted and Cielo Gartenmann. The Trojans won 10 games in the spring, their most since 2010.
