HONOLULU – The University of Hawai’i football team will be in search of its first conference victory when it travels to the Silver State for the match-up against Nevada, Saturday, Nov. 4 at Mackay Stadium. Kickoff is 1:00 p.m. PT (10:00 a.m. HT). The Rainbow Warriors (2-7, 0-4 MW) will look to snap a 10-game road losing streak as head coach Timmy Chang returns to Reno, where he spent five seasons as wide receivers and tight ends coach for the Wolf Pack. The Wolf Pack (2-6, 2-2) have won their last two games after starting the season with six straight losses.

GAME STORYLINES
- This week’s match-up is the 28th meeting between the teams with Nevada holding a 15-12 overall advantage.
- Nevada has won nine of the 11 meetings in Reno. UH’s two wins occurred in 2007 (28-26) and 2019 (54-3), the latter of which was Hawai’i’s second-largest margin of victory in a road conference game in program history.
- Ten of the last 12 meetings have been decided by 10+ points.
- The teams have met every year since 2000 when both were members of the Western Athletic Conference.
- UH head coach Timmy Chang coached the wide receivers and tight ends at Nevada from 2017-21 under former head coach Jay Norvell. The Wolf Pack made four bowl appearances while Chang was on staff.
- The Rainbow Warriors took last year’s meeting in Honolulu behind a ground attack that amassed 223 yards while the UH defense held Nevada to just 89 yards rushing.
- Hawai’i currently ranks No. 21 nationally in passing offense, averaging 287.8 yards per game through the air. The Warriors also rank third nationally with 251 completions and eighth in the FBS in total yards through the air with 2,590.
- QB Brayden Schager ranks fifth in the FBS and leads the Mountain West with 2,565 yards passing on the season. He is also tied for seventh in the FBS and is first in the Mountain West with 20 TD passes and is one of nine QBs nationally with at least 20 touchdown passes.
- Schager is tied for the national lead with USC’s Caleb Williams with eight completions of at least 50 yards.
- One of six QBs in the country with at least five 300-yard passing games this year, Schager is also tied for third nationally with eight fourth-quarter touchdown passes.
- WR Pofele Ashlock leads all freshman receivers in the FBS with 572 receiving yards and 51 receptions. The Euless, Texas native is also second nationally among freshmen with 63.6 receiving yards per game and tied for third among frosh with five touchdowns through the air.
- WR Steven McBride has established himself as one of the premier big play threats nationally, ranking second in the FBS with five receptions of at least 50 yards on the season.
- McBride also joins a group of seven wide receivers nationally that have multiple 150+ receiving games on the season and is 15th nationally with 733 receiving yards. He is also one of eight FBS receivers with multiple TD receptions in at least three games this year.
- Hawai’i is coming off of a 35-0 loss to San Jose State, suffering its first shutout loss since 2017 and first home shutout since 1998.
- After not losing a fumble through the first four games of the season, UH has lost a fumble in each of the last five games and seven total after San Jose State recovered the opening kickoff Saturday.
