Frances Hansen – Storm Lake Times Pilot

Frances Elaine Hansen peacefully transitioned on April 26, 2024, at the age of 97, surrounded by her cherished family.

Born on May 10, 1926, in Spencer to Fern and Edward Herrig, she embarked on a beautiful journey with her beloved husband, Ernest Paul Hansen, spanning Iowa, Florida and finally Colorado.

Frances found joy in travel, cooking and the warmth of her loved ones, especially her three daughters: Mary Birdsell (Gary), Rebecca Kling (Lewis) and Elizabeth Firebaugh (Jim); along with her eight grandchildren and nine-great-grandchildren, filling her life with cherished moments of love and laughter that she held dear and felt truly blessed to have experienced.

Frances’ spirit now rejoins her late husband, Paul, as they requested their ashes be combined for eternity. While we mourn her physical absence, we celebrate the enduring love and memories she leaves behind.

A celebration of her remarkable life will be held in her honor at a later date.
