
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — State Rep. Matt Woods won the special election for the Alabama Senate District 5 seat Tuesday.
Woods, R-Jasper, defeated Democrat Ryan Cagle. Woods received 86% of the votes, and Cagle garnered 13.81% of the votes, according to unofficial results that show 8,962 people voted. The district covers all or parts of Walker, Tuscaloosa, Fayette, Lamar and Jefferson…
