Crews rescued a horse that got itself stuck in a swamp in Thompson on Monday.
The Pomfret Fire Department said they assisted the Quinebaug Fire Department with the rescue.
“Glad to say we had a successful outcome and the horse is back at her stable,” they said on Facebook.
They said specialized horse rescue equipment was used, and the horse is expected to be OK.
