With rainfall hitting the Las Vegas Valley, the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) is encouraging all of Las Vegas to turn off their landscape irrigation systems through the remainder of this week to take advantage of the local weather.

According to SNWA, “Landscape watering accounts for about 60 percent of the water consumed in Southern Nevada.”

The National Weather Service office in Las Vegas is anticipating a chance of rain and possibly snow showers throughout the day on Thursday, with showers and thundershowers through the evening.

Along with the precipitation, temperatures are predicted in the mid-50s with overnight lows plunging to the mid to low 30s through Saturday.
