A Metropolitan Police Department officer and a paramedic were injured Wednesday when they were struck by a suspected impaired driver in a hit-and-run crash in northwest Las Vegas.

According to a text message from Metro Lt. Robert Johnson, the driver struck the officer and paramedic in a parking lot near North Decatur Boulevard and West Lake Mead Boulevard just before 8 p.m. Wednesday. Both were taken to a local hospital.

The injuries are not life-threatening, Johnson said. An ambulance and a Metro patrol vehicle were damaged in the crash.
