Some of the top high school football players in Southern Nevada over the past few years have been wide receivers.

The talent showed at April’s NFL draft when Liberty High graduate Germie Bernard (Pittsburgh Steelers) and Bishop Gorman graduate Zachariah Branch (Atlanta Falcons) were drafted. And the next generation of Las Vegas high school wide receivers is on track to make an impact at the next level.

Here is a look at the top five returning high school football wide receivers in Southern Nevada entering the season. (Players are listed in alphabetical order).

Zac Fares, Arbor View

Fares is listed as a tight end but is still one of the best pass catchers in the state and in his class nationally. Fares had 38 catches for 541 yards and seven touchdowns as Arbor View reached the Open Division state title game. Fares, listed at 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, is a two-time Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada selection. The senior is a three-star recruit and the state’s sixth-ranked class of 2027 recruit by 247Sports. In April, he committed to UCLA. Fares had more than 40 Division I offers and had other notable offers from Texas, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State.

Zyren Menor, Bishop Gorman

Menor burst onto the scene as a sophomore last year as one of Gorman’s top receivers. Menor had 22 catches for 577 yards and 14 touchdowns as the Gaels rolled to the Open Division state title. The 6-foot, 180-pound receiver added 163 kickoff return yards and a touchdown and was named a first-team Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada wide receiver. Menor is a four-star recruit by 247Sports and the state’s No. 2-ranked class of 2028 recruit. He has Division I offers from Notre Dame, Oregon, Texas A&M, Miami, and Tennessee.

Brandon Quaglio, Sloan Canyon

The state’s leading wide receiver last year came from the rising 4A powerhouse program. Quaglio led the state with 1,301 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns. He averaged 100.1 receiving yards per game on 71 total catches in 13 games as a junior. Quaglio, listed at 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, was a first-team Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada wide receiver as Sloan Canyon went 12-1 in 2025.

Jayden Thomas, Centennial

Thomas has been one of the cornerstone players that’s helped Centennial rebuild over the past three seasons. As a junior last year, Thomas was Centennial’s leading receiver with 32 catches for 610 yards and 11 touchdowns as the Bulldogs reached the 5A Southern Region title game as the No. 8 seed. During track and field season, Thomas helped Centennial win its first team state title since 2017 by running a leg on the Bulldogs’ 4×100-meter relay that won the 5A state title at the state meet in May. He committed to Minnesota in June over UNLV, San Diego State and California and held 14 Division I offers.

Damani Warren, Arbor View

Injuries hampered Warren last year, as he only had 16 catches for 223 yards and a touchdown in six games. But now, fully healthy, is in store for a big senior year. As a sophomore in 2024, he had 35 catches for 584 yards and five touchdowns in helping Arbor View reach its first football state championship game. Warren has been one of the most sought-after recruits in Southern Nevada. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound wide receiver is a three-star recruit by 247Sports, the state’s No. 3-ranked class of 2027 recruit and the 50th-ranked wide receiver in the country in his class. He committed to Texas A&M in June, choosing the Aggies over Michigan and had 41 Division I offers.

Others to watch: Louden Cahill, Basic; S’Marion Coleman, Mojave; Kai Cypher, Arbor View; Dasean Deayon, Las Vegas High; Nixon Gasperosky, Foothill; King Kahalewai, Spring Valley; Jaden Mason, Faith Lutheran; Justin McCullah, Mater East; Christian Smith, Chaparral.
