I’ve only seen the first M3GAN and I enjoyed it, but definitely wasn’t something that should’ve been a franchise like it clearly was trying to be with M3GAN 2.0 and now this, although I am going to be upset that we aren’t going to get M3GAN vs. Soulm8te (Alien vs. Predator style). The history surrounding this movie has been interesting because it was originally meant to be released in cinemas, but got taken off the Universal schedule after M3GAN 2.0 flopped so incredibly badly and now it’s finally come out, straight to VOD and… I can understand why it did, this is not great, it’s so predictable and it has basically the same plot points as every other evil AI robot going crazy and evil type movie has, there’s just nothing here, it’s also just not a very interesting or engaging movie because as soon as you’ve seen one of these types of movies, you’ve seen them all. I will say this is a nice looking movie and Lily Sullivan is great (she was great in Evil Dead Rise too). Overall, Soulm8te won’t do much for you, or maybe it will if you like these types of movies and aren’t sick of them, but it definitely didn’t do much for me. Maybe I’ll check out M3GAN 2 one day just to see how bad it is, but anyway, this was not good unfortunately. (3.5/10). #soulm8te #movies #cinema #films #moviereviews
