Students, members of the media, and candidates’ campaign staff were among those who were able to get tickets to the recent Republican presidential debate. We spoke to one student among the lucky few who attended Wednesday’s debate.
Ginger Morrow is the chair of the University of Alabama Republicans. We asked her about the point of this debate, since there will be more after this one.
“But a lot of people wonder why do we even bother having debates like this? And my answer is that it is still really important that we have these substantive discussions. So much can happen between now and November of 2024, so it is really important for us to keep our eye on these major players. And also, discussions like this help the Republican Party ahead of their convention in July of 2024,” Morrow said.
Morrow is responsible for organizing Republican students on campus.
