Deadline for vendor questions is July 12

The City of Boulder will be releasing a Request for Proposals (RFP) Monday, July 8, 2019 for vendors to develop a software platform to implement online endorsement for initiatives, referenda and recalls. The deadline for vendor questions is July 12, with responses due by Aug. 16.

Boulder residents elected to change the city’s charter in November 2018, which makes Boulder the first city in the nation to allow residents to endorse petitions online. However, there is currently no existing software platform available to meet the city’s needs.  Because of this, the city is seeking vendors to make proposals that will allow for secure, valid, transparent and accessible online petitioning.

Finalists will be selected August 30, with the final vendor selection from the city taking place during the week of Sept. 23. City officials say the hope is to have work begin in Oct. or Nov., so that the system is functioning in time for the Nov. 2020 election.
