A stabbing in Boulder on early Saturday morning left a University of Colorado Boulder student with minor injuries, according to Boulder police and CU Boulder.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., Boulder police responded to a call of a stabbing downtown, Boulder police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh said. Police said there was an altercation near 11th and Canyon streets and the male student was cut.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are in the early stages of investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Burcher at 303-413-7826 or burchera@bouldercolorado.gov and reference no. 23-08355, according to Waugh.

CU Boulder spokesman Steve Hulbert said its Student Affairs office has reached out to the student and offered support and resources. The student’s identity has not been made public.
