Wanna buy some homemade cookies and check out a space filled with comics and other nerdy, cool stuff? Considering popping by this father-daughter owned bakery and comic book shop in historic downtown Northport.
Michael Chaudhuri, who runs comic book store, is a retired lawyer who moved here from North Carolina to be closer to his family. Back when he was in North Carolina, one of his hobbies was hosting and growing a comic book convention with a friend.
Now that he’s in Northport with extra time on his hands, he’s looking to bring a little bit of that nerd culture right into his backyard.
Already in Northport ahead of his move was daughter Sarah Bullington and her bakery, Alley Cake Co. Bullington purchased the bakery after the retirement of her boss Mary Cesar, who owned the bakery then called Mary’s Cakes and Pastries.
Bullington said when Chaudhiri moved back to Alabama, he was looking for something to occupy time….
