The following is a news release from the Idaho Department of Education.

BOISE — Parents, teachers, administrators and other education stakeholders in Idaho can now connect with important issues through the Idaho Department of Education’s new podcast, “The Super in 10.” The department released the first five episodes today. Each is about 10 minutes in length.

By way of interviews with a variety of guests, Superintendent of Public Instruction Debbie Critchfield will explore various topics related to K-12 public education in Idaho. Initial guests include Idaho State Police Director Col. Kedrick Wills, Marsing School District Superintendent Norm Stewart and Ryan Cantrell, chief deputy superintendent at the Idaho Department of Education.

“The podcast is designed for parents, educators, administrators, policymakers and any Idahoan with an interest in education,” Critchfield said. “I hope to engage the state in a discussion about a wide variety of important topics, and do it in a way that’s informative and convenient at the same time.”

Each episode examines topics like community schools, data in education and strategic planning. A two-part episode features a conversation with Wills on the danger that fentanyl poses to young people in Idaho. Each installment offers a thoughtful, conversational approach to the topic.

Episodes are available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and Spotify. They are also available to stream on the Idaho Department of Education’s website as well as its YouTube channel.

“There are so many good things happening in Idaho education, and I’m thrilled that we now have a new platform to tell those stories,” Critchfield said. “This format offers a more personal approach to discussing these issues, and I hope that Idahoans will find it interesting and useful.”
