Hamden police are actively investigating a shooting at a Hamden gas station Friday afternoon where at least one man was injured and he allegedly fired back at the suspects.
The victim, a 28-year-old Hamden man, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg in the Gulf Express gas station parking lot located at 144 Arch St. on Friday, July 22.
The organization’s goal it to protect the “best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect—so every child can find a safe, permanent home to thrive,” the statement said.
The Hamden Police Department said the suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival after the victim, who holds a CT pistol permit and was armed, returned fire at the suspects. Police said they do not know if either suspect sustained injuries.
Hamden police officers responded to the scene at approximately 4 p.m. on reports of a shooting. Hamden Fire Rescue treated the victim at the scene. Police said the victim was then transported by ambulance to Yale New Haven Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The department said police recovered at ballistic evidence the scene.
