CU Buffs’ Jordan Nytes named Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week – Boulder…

The Colorado women’s soccer team got back on track this past weekend. And so did goalie Jordan Nytes.

On Monday, CU’s sophomore goalie was named the Pac-12 Conference Goalkeeper of the Week following the Buffaloes’ shutout wins at home against Arizona and Arizona State.

It was the second weekly honor this season for Nytes, a transfer from Oklahoma State who was the Big 12 Conference co-goalkeeper of the year last year.

A native of Aurora, Nytes helped the Buffs improve to 12-4-3 overall and 4-3-3 in the Pac-12, capping the weekend with a 4-0 win over No. 18 Arizona State. She made three saves against the Sun Devils and opened the weekend with five saves against Arizona.

Nytes’ 12 wins are ranked second in the Pac-12 this season and are tied for the seventh most in a season by a CU goalkeeper. She ranks 15th in the NCAA in minutes played, having logged all but five minutes in net this season for the Buffs. Her eight shutouts this season rank second in the Pac-12 and are the most for CU since JJ Tompkins had eight in 2019.

Nytes begins the week ranked third in the conference with an .819 save percentage. She has compiled back-to-back 10-win seasons after posting 10 last year at Oklahoma State.

It is the fourth career conference honor for Nytes, who won a pair of Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week awards last season at Oklahoma State. She was also the Pac-12’s Goalkeeper of the Week for Aug. 28.

The Buffs close the regular season on Friday with a visit to Utah (2 p.m. MT, Pac-12 Network).
