I’m just starting my first few end grain cutting boards. I should have probably kept it simple and only do square edges, but I tried to be fancy and do a Chevron pattern.
During the first glue-up, the individual strips fit together perfectly. However, even after clamping flat edge scrap on the top and bottom to try to prevent slippage, when I tighten up the main pipe clamps the angled pieces drift apart. Thus, I have to end up taking off almost 1/4″ when I take it to my router sled.
Any tips?
