ESPN college football analyst and former Florida Gators and Mississippi State Bulldogs head coach Dan Mullen has ranked his top 10 college football teams after Week 4.
Week 4 featured seven games between ranked college football teams. Florida State won 31-24 in overtime on the road at Clemson. Alabama overpowered Ole Miss 24-10 at home.
Ohio State utilized a last-second rushing touchdown to defeat Notre Dame. Washington State defeated Oregon State in a Pac-12 clash. LSU narrowly won at home over Arkansas. Quarterback Bo Nix and Oregon demolished Colorado. Utah won at home against a previously undefeated UCLA team.
Interestingly, Mullen does not rank the USC Trojans in his top 10.

Quarterback Cameron Ward and Washington State withstood an Oregon State comeback attempt in Week 4. The Cougars have impressive wins over Wisconsin and Oregon State.

Utah’s physical defense did the heavy lifting for the Utes in Week 4 against UCLA. The Utes had a pick-six and showed some offensive limitations. Utah could get back star quarterback Cam Rising soon. Rising is recovering from a torn ACL. His return would be a massive boost for the Utes.

In Week 4, Oregon set the Buffaloes, who went 1-11 last season, back to reality. Quarterback Bo Nix and the Ducks are contenders in the Pac-12, which is looking like an elite conference right now. The Pac-12 has the best quarterbacks of any conference.

The stout Penn State defense held Iowa’s weak offense to only 76 total yards. Penn State is looking like they can compete with Michigan and Ohio State this year. Mullen and most other folks have Penn State ranked at No. 7.

Washington opened up a 45-12 first half lead against California before giving up 20 points in the second half. Washington quarterback Michael Penix has looked as sharp as any player in the country. The Huskies are an underrated team capable of making a championship run.

Ohio State earned a massive road win at Notre Dame in Week 4. The Buckeyes scored a touchdown with one second left against a 10-man Notre Dame defense to beat the Fighting Irish. Ohio State’s held Notre Dame to only 175 passing yards in the win.
