The Erie Rotary Club has partnered with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to provide free books to children to promote literacy and a love for reading.

According to a press release by the Erie Rotary Club on Thursday, the club will be working with local organizations and community members to encourage families to sign up for the program. Each month, participating children up to 5 years old will receive a new age-appropriate book every month. The children can keep the book and share it with their family.

Jolene McKenna, Erie Rotary Club president-elect, said that the club is happy to partner with the Imagination Library to help the club’s commitment to promote education and literacy in Erie.

“This program has been shown to have a positive impact on children’s language and literacy skills, and we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow through reading,” McKenna said in the press release.

To sign up for the program, visit the Erie Rotary Club website or contact the club direcly.
